beautiful oak trees, several water holes, speed of play is good, course is a challenge for even the best golfers. Lots of variety, no two holes are the same.
It is one of the most challenging courses in San Diego County, and every hole is different so you never get the boring "down this fairway, back down the next fairway" feeling. I know a lot of men who like it because of its length. It's one of very few courses to have 5 teeing grounds for every level of play.
Very challenging, nice greens. If you can score well here, you can score well just about anywhere. The friendly staff and comfortable club house makes Carlton a home away from home.
Jerry Dremel, (Head Pro) Adam, (Restaurant Manager) & Yvette (Catering) recreated this spectacular venue for golf, dining and just plain hanging out over the last few years. The employees are great and always ensure a great experience time and time again.

You were all phenomenal. I don't think there was a single glitch from beginning to end. Yvette took care of us on Wednesday afternoon when we wanted the room set up so we could put out prizes and centerpieces. On Thursday morning the entire pro shop staff, including Grant, was there to assist the players with their clubs and, in general, be there for the Women's Club. Nate took care of our coffee service, and the wait staff couldn't have done a finer job at serving lunch (except for one dropped salad, ha ha). The beverage carts were always around to serve. Chef Adam provided a delicious luncheon and we're still getting raves from the players about it.
We have been coming to Carlton Oaks from Arizona for the last 10 years and the staff at Carlton Oaks is the BEST!! From the moment we arrive until we leave, they take the best care of us. We will be coming for the next 50 years!
I have played golf at Carlton Oaks for about 25 years and it has never been in better condition than it is right now. The greens are perfect, the pace of play is usually within 4 hours and the green fees are very reasonable. I would recommend it to anyone...
I would recommend Carlton Oaks because the golf course is beautiful and secluded. Also the staff are very helpful and generous. In about a year I am getting married at the golf course and whenever I have a question it is answered promptly and with interest in what I was asking. The chef's food is also very delicious and he has been willing to accommodate any need I have have with my wedding menu. I know that they will make my day very special.
