Their specials (TJ tacos and carnitas) are great, however the rest of their menu is just average. They have great salsa. The people that work there are amazing - and there's always a great atmosphere around the bar area.
Without a doubt, delicious Salsa and Mexican Food. The crowd is out for Taco Tuesdays. The food is always great, the margaritas are strong and the staff pays attention to serving you right. I bring my friends to Fred's in Old Town and have a great time every time. Party on! Angela
I went to the Fred's in Old Town recently and came away very full and very content, but not blown away. Really tasty chips and salsa starter -- friends and I devoured it like hungry wolves. Salsa could have been a bit spicier, but hey that's what the hot sauce is on the table for. Chipotle salsa wasn't that great.
We were there late afternoon, so we took advantage of the happy hour beers and boy were they huge. Good selection too. The menu had something for everyone I got one of the combos w/ fish tacos, a chicken enchilada, and a chicken chingadera and it was solid. Great guacamole.
