Exceptional, like one I enjoyed in New Orleans.

Also, new chef Andrew will be unveiling a new menu soon.
I sampled some gator and green chili. Wow.

We invited my brother and father-in-law and four other family members to the House of Blues Gospel Brunch the last week in July, 2008, to celebrate these two guys birthdays (67 and 87).

The artworks on the walls and ceilings were great eye candy. The brunch was good, though service was abysmal as we really had a hard time getting silverware that had been taken by others and water. The dessert area was nearly devoid of several of its treats and the staff didn't seem too concerned.

The gospel singing was supposed to run from 11am-noon. They didn't start until 11:45am because their lead singer was missing and only sang until 12:20pm....35 minutes.

They were very good at warming up a very annoyed audience, but even that took a bit of time. It was really unforgiveable to keep a paying audience waiting that long and then give such a short concert.

The singers invite the birthday celebrators onto the stage and do a lovely group 'Happy Birthday' song and invite each individual to do a short dance. That made it a memorable birthday for our two guys.

Our overall impression though was poor management and service which detracted from the good parts of the event.

Probably our first and last visit to House of Blues...way too much money to spend at $40 a head ($240 for our group of six) for such a lackluster presentation.
