We had our ceremony and reception in Coronado October 2009 with 275 guest count. Positives: cocktail hour had a fabulous ice sculpture with a beautiful cold seafood display (huge shrimp, fresh crab meat, oysters) with drawn garlic butter. What a treat! Meanwhile the servers tray passed mashed potatoes with filet mignon medallions with a port wine sauce. Also, bloody mary oyster shooter, and jalapeno stuffed prawns with cheese wrapped in bacon-Yummy! Dinner was just as wonderful, we had International food stations that hit everybody's taste buds.The service was great, the staff were very nice looked good and were also knew what was in the food (this was a plus since some family members had allergies to some foods). Martino's also did the flowers and coordinating. I can honestly say that I can't imagine our wedding day with ought them. Shellie and her manager, Laura were amazing. All details that we had discussed before hand were even better than we thought they would be. The flowers were perfect and she even got me peonies (my favorite), which we did not think would be available. Before our wedding Shellie also would meet us after work and even take calls on her cell in the evening. I wish that I could say that about all my other hired vendors. They really take great care and spoil their customers. I can't say enough great things about Shellie and her company. They truly are great and we will for sure be using them again. Negative: I only wish they would open a restaurant so we could eat the fabulous food all the time.

Our May wedding was in a private home in Carlsbad with the objective of steering away from tradition and impart as much personalization as possible. Shellie played a key role in making that happen. First, she coordinated a great layout for our space and took care of our rentals, linens and flowers. Her attention to detail was phenomenal. She even let us use some of her decorations and gorgeous glass container for our signature cocktail! She also provided many decorating suggestions. Now let's talk food. I'm STILL hearing from my friends & family how awesome the food was. We opted to give our out-of-town guests some SoCal flava and had 3 themed stations...along with a killer raw bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. Giving Shellie full creative reign was a VERY good decision. She even went so far as to personalize the stations with our favorite condiments and added one of my recipes to the menu. I've sampled a lot of her food...but I'm still dreaming of those shrimp stuffed piquillo peppers, lamb chops and tri tip. Which reminds me, when I found out that she purchases her tri tip at my favorite local butcher (which is pretty pricey), I was floored at the level of quality and at very reasonable prices.
One final note, we talked to a number of caterers prior to choosing Shellie and were kind of put off by them incorporating the gratuity into the cost--even though it's standard. Shellie didn't...which showed us she was that confident she was going to deliver a high-quality service without demanding it up front. And she sure did!!!

The food is great. You never feel like you are eating boring wedding food. Her food is above all others. The quality is great and you get what you pay for. She finds out what you like and she takes it over the top.

We will never ever use any other caterer. I am a Development Director for our non-profit organization. I am in charge of planning and running fundraisers for our npo. All I can say is that the food is FABULOUS, the service amazing and Shellie has made my job so easy. Before I hired Martino's I never had the chance to enjoy my productions, I was too busy making sure that our event was going according to plan. But now that I have worked with Martino's, I am now able to enjoy our events with no worry. This is because I know that Shellie is very experienced in pulling off a successful event.

I might also add that our guests have continued to comment on how much they enjoyed the food, decor and atmosphere of our fundraiser. Our contributions, which are gathered at these fundraisers, have continued to increase since using Martino's.

All that i can say is that with Martino's you will never want to use any other caterer in town.

Martino's did our wedding and they were AWESOME. I absolutely loved sweet Shellie, and the food was just to die for. Weddings are usually known for having "so-so" food but our guests were asking who catered our wedding. Shellie's since done my friends' weddings. I remember the tasting... my husband and I could not decide what to select! Plus, their prices are reasonable, and they are so easy to work with.

Shellie catered for our wedding at the Coronado Community Center in March. She is so creative and very familiar with the venue it was so great to work with her. I loved all of her ideas and the reception turned out better than I expected. The food was fabulous and she paid such attention to detail.

Shellie and her staff were wonderful. My daughters wedding reception was AWESOME. We deceided to go with Martino's because Shellie was so nice and the food was great, she was hands on all evening. Martino's offers more then just the food, that is what made it so nice, it was like a one stop shopping. I will refer her to anyone looking for catering.

Shellie at Martinos and her staff made our daughters graduation party an absolute success. My daughter and her friends still haven't stopped talking about it. Shellie had such great ideas and she is the reason for such a great time which was had by all. We were able to get the whole party planned on the first visit from the venue to the food, rentals and decorations and it was all above and beyond what we had even hoped for. Oh and by the way, the food was FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks Shellie and Martinos for such a great time and making this such an easy party for us!

As a first-time father of the bride, I was extremely demanding. My expectations were high. What impressed me most about Martino's catering was their ability to balance the artistic interpretation of my wife and daughter's vision with my need for sound business professionalism. Shellie has been around the block and knows what it takes to avoid unpleasant surprises. She helped make this once-in-lifetime occasion something our family will cherish from now on. Shellie sells value. When you compare prices (we did extensively) you will find she will be right up front helping you identify all costs. When talking to others, do your due diligence and you will most likely find, as we did, that what sounds like a lower price on the surface is actually not comparable to the value that Marino's gives. Knowing what we now know about Martino's, it would have been worth paying a premium, but we did not have to because she is extremely competitive when you compare apples to apples.

If you want it done right by people with a passion for excellence, my money's on Martinos. Thanks again for the memories, Shellie.
