Each summer the small town of Vista comes alive with music, dancing, nature's beauty and the joy of theater -goers as the Moonlight Theater once again presents the best in musical drama, from Beauty and the Beast for young audiences " to "Oklahoma " , "Me and My Gal " , "Show Boat", "Sweeney Todd", Evita and many other well chosen and professionally performed plays . It is no longer San Diego County's best kept secret. It is the most talked about with high praise and tales of it's excellence.
Our first Moonlight experience was Oklahoma sung and danced by an outstanding group of performers over twenty-five years ago. Our latest experience was Little Shop of Horrors a few weeks past. That which gave us so much pleasure then continues to provide a most pleasurable evening today.
We have been going to Moonlight for 25 years now and have enjoyed every season of music and dancing--laughing and crying. Every show is well done with an outstanding cast. We enjoy the weather, the lawns, eating outside and simply being together as a family. We have so many fond memories of Moonlight.
Moonlight is run by talented, dedicated and caring individuals. The shows produced are a result of extreme hard work on behalf of the performers, stage staff and crew, and the production staff. Everyone is treated with the utmost respect and the result is a high quality production rivaling even those on the great white way. Audiences are treated to great pieces of theater in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
Their community-oriented productions are entertaining and affordable. Their staff places great value in providing an important artistic outlet for the local arts community.
