Phuong Trang Restaurant started out in our family kitchen serving traditional Vietnamese family-style dinners for family and friends. Known as com thang, month of meals, we offered three courses of food, which changed daily. The concept became so popular that we opened a small restaurant in Linda Vista in 1988 to cater to the hundreds of families picking up their daily dinners. In 1992, we opened our current location on Convoy St., offering an extensive menu featuring authentic Vietnamese food. Only the freshest ingredients are used, and quality is never compromised. Most items are served with a generous assortment of fresh vegetables and herbs. Being one of the healthiest foods around, Vietnamese cooking has quickly become popular with guests of all ages.

The service is great, the food served in a timely manner. I've been to Viet resturants and this place has always been a favorite. They offer a wide variety of food and don't go cheap on the ingredients. Busy during lunch and late nights but that's how you know its good. Also the prices are acceptable for the quality you get. Give it a try and you'll never look back.

Simply the best Vietnamese food in town! I have been eating here for over 10 years, and have never been disappointed. The pho is delicious, and the 7 course beef is a must. Of course, the egg rolls are great - I've never had better. I've introduced many people to this restaurant, and everyone raves about how good the food is. Happily, the service is equally good, and the waiters are very patient and take the time to explain what the different types of food are and always have good recommendations (so, there is no need for the uninitiated to "guess" what they will order). I can't say enough good things about this place, as it is simply the best Vietnamese food I've had.

We love Vietnamese food because of it's freshness and flavors. My husband and I have visited many Vietnamese restaurants in San Diego over the years. NONE of them compare to Phuong Trang. It is the absolute BEST in San Diego. One visit to Phuong Trang... you won't go anywhere else!

All the meals I've had here are delicious. I've taken all my coworkers as well as family and friends here and the food is a winner with everyone. They have such a wide variety of items on their menu that everyone could find something they like. The servers are nice and friendly and the spring rolls are the best I've tasted.
