Shafa Yoga Beginner Groups/ Levels 1 & 2:
Our Beginner classes are suitable for beginning students with little or no experience at all with yoga. These groups are in no way inferior to the advanced Asanas and are very useful in improving physical health. Therefore this series can be practiced by anyone: beginner or advanced, young or elderly. It should never be ignored and treated casually just because the practices are simple, gentle and comfortable.
This group consists of Pawanmuktasana series. The word "Pawan" means "Wind" or "Prana"; "Mukta" means "Release" and "Asana" means "Pose". Therefore, Pawanmuktasan means a group of Asanas that remove any blockages preventing the free flow of energy or Qi in the body and mind.
Sometimes, due to bad posture, disturbed bodily functions, psychological or emotional problems or an unbalanced life style, the energy become blocked. This initially results in stiffness, muscular tension, lack of proper blood flow and minor functional defects. However, if these blockages become chronic, a limb, join or physical organ may malfunction, fail or become diseased. Regulsr practice of Pawanmuktasana removes energy blockages from the body and prevents new ones from forming. In this way, it promotes total health, regulating and stabilizing the flow of energy throughout the body.

Beginner groups are divided into 2 levels which each level should be practiced for at least 3 months.

•Level 1: For new beginners - You will be introduced to Anti-rheumatic, digestive and detoxification Asanas or postures, emotional tension releasing, self-awareness expansion, diaphragmatic, thoracic, clavicle, Yogic and Ujjayi breathing, relaxation and Shavasana, Mantra chanting.

•Level 2: For continuing beginners - You will be introduced to basic hips and shoulders opening, spinal improvement and energy block postures, purification breathing exercise and basic Sun Salutation.

At Shafa Yoga we offer small group classes (15 max), to support personal growth, through individualized yoga instruction, in a beautiful studio with a friendly and relaxing environment.

In this peaceful setting, there is just you, your body and breath, practicing with a few other students under the guidance of a well-trained yoga instructor. Our classes adapt yoga practice to each individual's needs, body type, health status, and personal life goals.

In addition Shafa Yoga provides classes in corporate settings, workshops on special topics, Yumeiho Yoga Therapy in a one on one setting and 200 hour yoga teacher training, certified by the Shafa Yoga and registered with the Yoga Alliance.
