The Shepherdess was opened in 1979 by Marcie Stone and William Dubin. Beginning as a weaving and spinning store, The Shepherdess rapidly evolved to its present form.

Going into its twenty seventh year, The Shepherdess continues to be on the cutting edge of the bead world.

The school offers top quality workshops led by local artists and guest instructors from around the country.
