Spending an afternoon at Tea-Upon-Chatsworth is always a treat in so many ways. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet elegant, and never uptight. The staff is always friendly and happy to make recommendations, making even the novice tea-goer feel comfortable. Of course the best part is the wonderful food. It's always unique, creative, beautifully presented and absolutely delectable!

My friend Ellen and I are regular Sunday afternoon diners at Tea Upon Chatsworth - we love Joy, Carol and all of the staff, but most of all we love the tea service and the delicious food :) I even had my 60th birthday party there last year with 30 friends and we all had a wonderful time. Since then, several of my friends have returned with me or on their own. Thank you Joy for providing such a wonderful venue :)

The food is great! The menu changes with the season, so it's not the same old thing every time you go in there. The flavor combinations are amazing, and you get to try things that you never thought you would eat or like. The tea selection is excellent also. There's always something new and different to try, which makes it exciting. And the owner is very nice. She always takes the time to stop and talk to her customers. You can tell that she takes a lot of pride in her work and puts a lot of thought into everything on he menu. I love it!

My favorite tea place anywhere! What keeps me coming back almost every three or four months, is the inviting ambiance, pleasing to all senses...upon entering the tearoom, soft, gentle music playing in the background soothes your ears; the room itself is open w/a variety of antique tables beautifully set w/table linens & tea cups ready for your visit as well as the heady scent of Joy's seasonal menu offerings that once tasted, makes you melt into your chair w/luxurious abandon. She gives her customers not only a new mouth-watering menu w/every season; her palate-pleasing menu showcases her excellent cooking/baking and catering skills. A sample of my favorites that she has done are her artichoke cuplets, tasty artichoke spread baked in a light, buttery, crispy, toasty cup I had the first time I came to her tearoom, then her delicious guava gazpacho w/a tiny dollop of sour cream & mint she has offered in her summer menu, then in the fall/winter she had a flavorful pumpkin soup w/caramelized apples that was to die for! Not to mention her delicious tea sandwiches, golden scones that when cut into reveal a soft, fluffy center perfect for a lavish spread of her homemade chatsworth cream & rose petal jam. Am I making you hungry? I certainly hope so! If you have not ever been to Tea Upon Chatsworth, please take the time to go, you won't be sorry, in fact, you'll leave wondering why you have never heard of this place before and not only will you definitely be coming again, you'll be thinking w/excitement of sharing to all you know, your latest discovery of a hidden San Diego treasure.
