Our family would like to thank you for celebrating the old Italian tradition of gourmet cuisine, fine wine and entertainment.
In 1967, Chef Isidoro Balistreri came to San Diego from his native town of Aspra, a small village just outside Palermo, Sicily, bringing to you exquisite recipes from the "Old Country".
In 1974, Isidoro and his wife, Maria, opened San Diego's original Godfather Restaurant to bring you the treasured recipes of Northern and Southern Italy. Thank you for dining with our family.

I've been going there for years and have never had a bad meal. The portions are generous - make sure you try the fried zucchini - it's amazing!

I'm almost afraid to vote for The Godfather in fear that the word will get out that their food is amazing and their price per portion unbeatable! I love the fried zuchini!!!

This place is over-rated. The portions are big - but they are overpriced. You are charged for each soda refill!! The service was not great either. Over priced, over rated.

The food bar none is the best you will ever taste. The atmosphere is romantic yet casual dress is fine. The piano player adds to the ambiance. You will also enjoy a personal conversation with Anthony, the owner, who treats everyone like they are a VIP......Love, Love, Love this restaurant.

The food is awesome. We are going to have dinner this weekend to celebrate a special birthday. The staff always make us feel special with their great service and carefully prepared food. It's worth finding. You will definitely return again.
