After all of the hype surrounding this place, and never being able to get in until recently (July '08, for my boyfriend's birthday), I was sorely disappointed. The hostess had a terrible attitude, both on the phone and in person. She stuck us in the darkest alley outside in a sort of wind-tunnel, with no heat lamp, though the place was nowhere near capacity and it was one of the last seatings. We had to steal a candle off another table, then hop to a vacated table, mid-meal to make use of a blazing heat lamp. Our server (I wish I could remember her name!) was very warm and attentive though, and she knew the menu inside and out. She was able to suggest great wines. The Arctic Char and sides were amazing, but the much-hyped mac n cheese was weak and runny, though the little nuggets of bacon and tomato were a nice touch. It was only a little better re-heated the next day. Between the nasty hostess and the mac n' cheese, I was so irritated and disappointed that we didn't stay for dessert - and we always stay for dessert. Although there are several other menu items that sound great, I don't think I want to chance it again.

This restaurant is a real treat. I come here alone or with a friend. The food is excellent, and the staff knows a lot about pairing. I waited so long for the place to open, when it was being constructed, then for dinner hours to come, and I was not disappointed. Jayne's was a great addition to the neigborhood too - there are only a few establishments on or near 30th below Adams.

I'd really like to see this place thrive. It is my Old Town happy place. The staff is friendly, they serve great wines and good snacks. No wine snobs here, only enthusiasts - and I love the various seating areas, indoors and out. You can tuck into a cozy spot with friends or socialize at the bar.

The guys at UC Cyclery are awesome. EVERYONE there is knowledgeable and super friendly. They don't pressure you at all to buy but, when you are ready to buy, Dave goes out of his way to help you get exactly what you want. I get the same attention from all of the staff, whether I'm shopping or stopping by to ask a million questions. These guys are really passionate about bikes - but not snobs like may others I could name - and it's catching.

Amazing! The price is a little steep for lunch, but the food is amazing, and service is very good. Only one complaint - the teas sound wonderful on paper, but they turn out to be Tazo teas (very disappointing - they should at least try Ito En teas, a great variety of green teas without additives).
