I grew up in Cardiff and went to VG's a lot as a kid. I have had their donuts and cakes and they are all good. My sister and I both had VG cakes at our bridal showers and my sister had a VG cake for a baby shower. When I visit my parents in Cardiff I try to get to VG's its that good. Also in a great location to grab a few donuts and go to the beach and watch the surfers at Swami's!

If there's a line out the door, it's worth standing in. If they're out of your favorite addiction( mine happens to be the buttermilk bars) it's worth coming back for it. If you're 79 and you drive over from Arizona, like my father does twice a year just to get his fix of VG's cinnamon rolls, then you know something good is definitely baking at the most wonderful bakery in Cardiff by the sea!

V-G's has been in our family since the mid 1970's when our daughter (Becky) met & married Joe Mettee (current owner of V-G's). My personal favorite delicacy is the Strawberry/Cheese Danish Pastry. Also love their Chocolate Old Fashioned donuts & Cinnamon Rolls. They're all so yummy!

I've been a loyal customer for more than 30 years and drive down from Orange County just for the chocolate old-fashions. I know people from as far away as the south bay of LA that look for reasons to come down to Cardiff just to go to VG's.
