I have met so many wonderful people and enjoy suggesting wonderful old and new books to our customers, teachers, and children. It's great spending time looking at all of the new books that are being published at this time.
Absolutely, hands down, the best bookstore I've visited for kids. The knowledgeable staff takes great pride (and joy) in interacting with you, your child or teen to help them discover the best book for their interests, assigned genres, and reading levels. They go out of their way to serve their customers--and they know their customers so well. It is by far the best service I've received when searching for a book for my child. It's why I keep coming back again and again. They even helped our community establish a mother-daughter book club suggesting a variety of great books for us to read. At the Yellow Book Road, they know their business--Children's Books! It is #1 on my list for sure. They do much more than sell books--they have a passion for great literature and encouraging kids to keep reading it!
I have patronized this store for over a decade. The staff is highly competent and knowledgable and their wares are wonderful. Any and all of my questions and/or requests have been promptly met with professionalism and kindness. Parents, educators, and anyone interested in promoting a love of literacy and learning in children and adolescents must support and promote this business.
The Yellow Book Road is an amazing children's book store! Where else in San Diego can you enjoy the expertise and advise of educators as you make a selection of the books that are most appropriate for children of all ages? Nowhere!!!
I've been a customer of Yellow Book Road since it opened and my children fondly remember meeting visiting authors/illustrators. Everyone who works here truly loves children's literature and willing to help find the perfect book. If they don't have it they will try to order it for you.
With independent bookstores becoming a very rare item across the country, we in San Diego have been blessed to continue to have such an outstanding children/young adult bookstore close at hand. My girls are all but grown now but I still shop there for myself. Kudos YBR!
